REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology is a therapy in which pressure is applied to reflex points on the feet. It is based on the principle that each of us have around 7,000 nerves and reflex points on the feet that connect to the internal organs and glands. Stimulation of a reflex point on the foot sends messages from these cells through a nerve pathway to the control centers inside the body, which sends other messages back to the muscles and internal organs. By applying pressure on reflex points, a reflexologist first detects areas of soreness or imbalance and congestion within the body systems. The reflexologist then aims to restore the body’s natural equilibrium and encourage the body to heal itself at its own pace.
