CHINESE HERBS
A Chinese herbal prescription is typically comprised of 6-18 individual herbs which are combined and modified in one of many traditional formulas that date back to the earliest practitioners and classic medicinal texts. Chinese herbalists have learned hundreds of these formulas by heart in their training, and they carefully prescribe, modify and prepare each formula as a specific remedy for an exact defined disease condition.
Chinese herbs are often prescribed in conjunction with acupuncture. The combination is designed to treat both the symptoms
and/or disease as well as the patients individual Chinese pattern diagnosis. The cost is determined at the time of consultation and is based on how many herbal preparations are needs for the patients condition. We offer a complete herbal pharmacy available in both powder and pill form.
Chinese herbal preparations are very potent, therefore providing a licensed acupuncturist experienced in prescribing Chinese herbal medicine is essential to our center. Make sure to consult with a licensed acupuncturist with the proper training in both prescribing and dispensing herbs whenever choosing Chinese herbs as a part of your therapy.
